Induction Day and Evening

I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for the wonderful transition arrangements made for my daughter, from Year 6 to Year 7.

Firstly, I would like to thank all the tutors and supporting staff for their tremendous efforts in organising the hour-long speech on 3rd July 2024 and the taster day on 4th July 2024. The seamless coordination and thoughtful planning were evident, and I greatly appreciate the time and energy that went into making these events successful.
My daughter was initially worried about the transition and meeting new friends in Year 7. However, after the taster day, she truly enjoyed her time at BTHCC. She was particularly delighted by the friendliness of all the teachers and the school tour. She found the History teacher's funny teaching presentation, the Science teacher's experiment arrangement, and the Maths teacher's test game particularly engaging and enjoyable.

My daughter can't wait to start her lessons at BTHCC. She shared her artwork from the Art lesson, recounted her experience in Drama class, and proudly showed me her decorated cookie, along with all the happy moments of the day.

I deeply appreciate all the effort you have put into creating such a welcoming and exciting environment. Lynette shared her enthusiasm and positive learning experiences with her classmates this morning, and it’s clear that the transition arrangements have made a significant impact on her.

Thank you once again for all your hard work and dedication.

INDUCTION EVENING – WEDNESDAY 3RD JULY 2024

The Induction Evening will commence at 6.00pm. The evening will begin with a welcome from the Headteacher, the Heads of Year 7 and the Head of Key Stage 3. They will provide further details outlining the transition process followed by a presentation about the Blessed Thomas Holford Catholic College experience and family. While you are listening to the presentation, your child will meet with their Form Tutor in their form rooms, and they will also listen to a similar presentation about life at BTHCC. It will also be an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have.

INDUCTION DAY – THURSDAY 4TH JULY 2024

On Induction Day, students will arrive at Blessed Thomas Holford Catholic College at 9:15am at the main entrance. Students will be met by staff and escorted to the Sports Hall where they will gather into their new form groups for an assembly led by Mrs Naughton and Mr O'Neill. Students should be wearing their primary school uniform, and will need to bring a packed lunch, bottle of water and any medication they require. They will meet their form and Form Tutor and engage in a variety of activities, including subject-specific “taster sessions” and getting-to-know-you games. Please collect your child at 3.00pm from the main gates.
