MMU Exhibition AND architecture tOUR
We took year 9 and 10 pupils to Manchester to see the amazing architecture in our city and to visit the degree show at MMU. Unfortunately, it rained all day, but that didn't affect the pupils' attitude and behaviour, which was excellent. Some of the buildings we looked at included: Hatch (converted shipping containers), The Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, The Contact Theatre, The Whitworth, Manchester Aquatics Centre to name a few. Pupils looked at the features of these buildings, taking in an understanding of their functional and aesthetic features. The university exhibition was inspiring and hopefully showed our pupils what it means to study design subjects at university level and what careers it can lead to.
