Mathematics

“Maths is challenging but our hard work makes is satisfying once you grasp it”

Why study Mathematics?

A Level Mathematics is an excellent subject for students who have an interest in the subject, enjoy it or perhaps are thinking about undertaking one of the many careers which value the skills of a mathematician. The course brilliantly complements other subject like Physics, Chemistry, Business or Computer Science that you may also be considering taking.

A Level Maths is intended for students who have passed GCSE Maths at a grade seven or higher, and wish to extend their knowledge and problem-solving skills. The course will be studied over two years, and you will have Maths for five hours a week in year 12 which is then increased to six hours a week in year 13.

Extra-curricular aspects of the course

Students will be given the opportunity to attend problem-solving events at the local university.
