Intervention
At Blessed Thomas Holford Catholic College we want all students to achieve their potential and use God’s love as a guide alongside following the BTH Way to: Be Kind – Work Hard – Develop my whole self.
We understand that some students may need more support beyond the pastoral care and curriculum which we deliver that is underpinned by the Catholic Social Teachings. To ensure all students have the opportunity to develop academically, emotionally, spiritually and physically we run a broad and diverse intervention programme to help further support students.
The intervention programmes are ran alongside the school day and students who are accessing this have been referred by members of staff within the school’s Pastoral, Safeguarding, SEND and Senior Leadership team. Once referred, students places on the programmes are reviewed weekly by a Deputy Headteacher, Assistant Headteacher, SENCO, Child Protection Officer, Attendance Lead and Head of Key Stage 3 and 4.
All of the intervention programmes which are ran in school are not permanent and are short term programmes to help support students to make the most of their time whilst at Blessed Thomas Holford Catholic College and access the full National Curriculum on offer. The interventions which are ran can be split into three areas: Academic Support; Behavioural Support; Social, Emotional and Mental Health Support.
